Organic Chia Seed & Honey Pudding

02/02/2013

One of the simplest recipes for pudding that you could possibly make is with Organic Chia Seeds and Honey. If you ever liked tapioca pudding you will probably love the Chia Seed Pudding, as they are very reminiscent of one another; except you don’t have to cook the chia version of course. Since I used to love tapioca, I was very excited about the Chia recipe. There are several variations you can make to this recipe which you can probably see right away, but here are the basics: Put one cup of (any color) chia seeds into a quart container. Dissolve a half cup of raw honey in 3/4 of a quart of lukewarm water. Mix water and chia seeds […]

Grandma’s Raw Apple Sauce

This is a superbly simple and refreshing treat for warm summer days. My Grandmother showed me how to make it a few years ago, and it’s a daily favorite now! Raw apple sauce is easy to make and tastes just as good as the store bought version (maybe even better)! Whatever apples you choose to use are blended into a smooth sauce bursting with flavor and nutrition. And the ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is great for your health while also maintaining the fresh taste and light color of the apples. Raw apples are simply loaded with incredible nutrients!!!  Many people claim that eating apples may help with countless health problems. Including, asthma, alzheimer’s, high cholesterol, cancer, diabetes, and weight gain! […]

Its easy to make and you can’t really mess it up. Once again, it was an experiment with whatever I could find to put in it. I was […]

Raw Almonds & Dried Figs

08/23/2011

Did you know that raw organic almonds and organic dried figs taste amazing together?? Okay, so I know this “recipe” is about as basic as it gets… but it’s still one of my favorite snacks in the whole world!  And, considering how full of nutrients both of these raw ingredients are, it may be one of the healthiest food combinations around. Dried figs are  high in fiber,  and great for over-all bone health, and helping to lower blood pressure. They are also a good source of iron. Raw organic almonds are equally tremendous in their benefits to our health! Many people are saying that raw almonds may encourage proper development of the brain, provide a clearer complexion, healthier hair, and a healthier heart! The American […]

Raw Trail Mix

07/28/2011

What kind of raw food is ideal for traveling? This yummy trail mix is a super great start! I’m heading out in the morning on my first trip over seas!  It’s a missions trip to Europe with my church, and we’ll be doing some construction work, sports, arts/crafts, singing and other outdoor activities. It’s going to be so exciting! But also exhausting… so at first I was at a loss as to what kind of raw food would fill me up quick, give me energy, but also taste really good.  I’d say raw trail mix is the perfect match. Every ingredient in this mix is a super food in itself. By snacking on a nutritious combination of dried fruits […]

Raw Cheese

Cheese is one of my all-time favorite foods, and learning how to make this recipe was a real treat for me. I was surprised at how easy it is to prepare. It tastes absolutely wonderful, and goes great with other foods too. We have gallons of raw goat’s milk this time of year, and my Grandmother wanted to teach me how to use it for raw cheese. Wow, I am so glad she did! (And by the way, using raw cow’s milk works just as good!) This is not a firm cheese. It reminds me of a softer version of feta… or a fine curd cottage cheese. Superb topping for salads, crackers, and other dishes. I also feel so good eating this […]

Potato Chips Recipe (potato free!)

07/16/2011

These golden babies are AWESOME! And they’re not even made from potatoes!!! My Aunt tasted them yesterday and was like, “OH MY GOSH…… SHANAAAA! THEY TASTE BETTER THAN REAL POTATO CHIPS!”  I have to say I was surprised by how incredible they are. Each chip is lightly coated with olive oil, topped with spices to give it an amazing flavor, and then dehydrated. When you pop one in your mouth… they even have that crispy  crunch that only a real chip can have. Praise the Lord that there are still greasy foods that are good for you!!! 🙂 Raw Potato Chips Directions: Slice as many zucchini as your dehydrator will hold, slice them a little over 1/8 inch thick. (If […]

Chocolate covered raisins are one of my favorite treats ever! (I especially love nibbling on them when I’m watching a movie!) Sometimes I get a bad sweet tooth and I’m just dying for something rich, but I still want to know I’m building my health at the same time… so I tried making raw chocolate covered raisins today and enjoyed them so much! These darlings are pretty tasty and easy too! It’s hard to mess them up….  they still turn out great even if you like more/less honey, cacao or flavors. Chocolate Covered Raisins 1/4 cup Raw Almond Butter 2 TBS Raw Honey 1 TBS Raw Cacao (or raw carob) 1 tsp Vanilla Flavor 1/2 tsp Maple Flavor 1/2 tsp […]

Raw Honey Cinnamon Mini-Rolls

07/06/2011

My whole family loves this raw food dessert. It’s sweet , sticky and absolutely delicious! It does require a dehydrator, and takes some time to make, but I think it’s worth it. When it comes to raw food desserts, it’s not always easy to find one that really hits the spot, but these flavorful little treats are just right. (They remind me of tiny Sugar Cinnamon Rolls.) When added to food, cinnamon may help to stop bacterial growth, making it a great raw food preservative.  I love the nutritional value of this raw food dessert  almost as much as I love the flavor! Cinnamon has become one of my favorite spices because of it’s amazing health benefits. According to recent studies, just […]

Aunt Holly’s Berry Raw Ice Cream

06/28/2011

This rich, raw ice cream recipe came from my dear Auntie Holly.  It’s easy to make and tastes grandioso! I’m always content to spend a warm summer afternoon at my Aunt and Uncle’s house (they’re raw ice cream addicts), because it often means I get to taste-test whatever new flavors they decide to try in this cool treat. My favorite is this basic berry recipe. It doesn’t take long to make, but it sure tastes heavenly! Use whatever frozen fruit suits your fancy. There are so many tasty options… peach, mango, pineapple, etc.  Any fruit chosen is really refreshing, and I enjoy it even more, knowing how GOOD all that raw milk is for my body!  I’ll just take a minute here […]
