One of the simplest recipes for pudding that you could possibly make is with Organic Chia Seeds and Honey. If you ever liked tapioca pudding you will probably love the Chia Seed Pudding, as they are very reminiscent of one another; except you don’t have to cook the chia version of course. Since I used to love tapioca, I was very excited about the Chia recipe. There are several variations you can make to this recipe which you can probably see right away, but here are the basics: Put one cup of (any color) chia seeds into a quart container. Dissolve a half cup of raw honey in 3/4 of a quart of lukewarm water. Mix water and chia seeds […]

Mmmm! This is the best drink ever!  Just about everyone loves the sweet freshness of orange juice any time of the year, but we think that cranberry orange juice is an even more amazing treat…… It has that delicious orange flavor, but with an added tang from the cranberries. And the raw honey tones down the tartness to create a very refreshing and beautiful drink. My family and friends love it even if they’re not into raw foods! And my husband and I have been drinking it every day! We enjoy it with any meal- early or late. And the fact that its easy to make and has tons of great health benefits just adds to its delight-fulness! Its a […]

This is a superbly simple and refreshing treat for warm summer days. My Grandmother showed me how to make it a few years ago, and it’s a daily favorite now! Raw apple sauce is easy to make and tastes just as good as the store bought version (maybe even better)! Whatever apples you choose to use are blended into a smooth sauce bursting with flavor and nutrition. And the ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is great for your health while also maintaining the fresh taste and light color of the apples. Raw apples are simply loaded with incredible nutrients!!!  Many people claim that eating apples may help with countless health problems. Including, asthma, alzheimer’s, high cholesterol, cancer, diabetes, and weight gain! […]

A Raw Story: Healthy Cats On Raw Food

12/03/2011

Holly from Shepherd’s Lair Bobtail Cats Says: “I have so many stories about how raw food has helped people and pets…..but I will just share this one for now. I raise exotic Highland Lynx cats and I feed them a diet that is primarily raw and/or organic. One family who bought a cub from me already had a rescue cat that was not very healthy. They could not get rid of her digestive problems, rough/scraggly coat and too thin/underweight problem. I suggested they try the same raw food diet on her that they were going to give the Highlander kitten. They contacted me in about 6 months with a picture of both cats….with the rescue girl in PERFECT health after being […]

Did you know that there is specific raw food for body parts?! Yep, there are actually certain raw foods that look similar to the part of your body that they help the most! The first time I saw a food/body comparison I was shocked!   In my mind I was like, GOD, YOU ARE AWESOME.  It’s hard to believe at first. It’s so amazing to see science crediting certain foods with providing health for certain body parts. It seems so clear that our Creator made these foods specifically to meet the needs of our bodies. What an amazing Designer and Provider He is! Of course these foods are the most packed with living nutrients when they have not been heated. I’m sure […]

“Steamed” Kale Recipe

09/27/2011

I enjoy this raw kale recipe every time my Grandmother makes it!  Brings to mind cool fall evenings when I was much younger, and warm steamed greens served during family meals. It’s amazing how food can be attached to so many memories. Anyway, these raw greens have a delicious, salted butter flavor and great texture, that makes them a very tasty (and healthy) addition to any raw dinner! I also really enjoy this raw kale recipe as a mid-day snack with some cheese and fresh fruit. I often forget about the many advantages that green, leafy veggies offer. I’m always needing more greens in my diet, and raw kale is one of the most nutritionally rich veggies around. So if […]

Easy Lasagna

This easy lasagna is one of the tastiest recipes ever!!! Served warm or chilled, it’s going to be a favorite of mine for many meals to come. If have one weak spot when it comes to food, it’s lasagna. So I’m not exactly sure why it took me so long to try creating a raw version… But I guess it’s “better late on a plate, than never!” Zucchini (also known as courgette) is a handy vegetable because it’s available year round, and it’s benefits in a raw kitchen are numerous. They contain vitamin C, potassium, and vitamin A, which are all very important for good health. Regularly adding zucchini to meals may help with weight loss because of the low calorie content. […]

Raw Ricotta Cheese Recipe (vegan)

Super great vegan recipe here! I’m a cheese freak, so this stuff makes me happy! The pine nuts used in this raw ricotta cheese recipe are filled with amino acids and also high protein and fat levels. This makes them a great source of nutrition. They are also full of B vitamins and minerals. I don’t know if it’s true, but here’s a few of the reasons I’ve heard that people are really liking raw pine nuts: -Cardiovascular Disease Prevention  -Cholesterol Reduction  -Weight Loss I love this recipe because it’s short and sweet and sweet. Great tasting food should always be like that! “Raw Ricotta Cheese” 1 cup raw pine nuts (soaked for 1 1/2 hours) 3 TBS water 1/2 […]

It’s yummy. It’s super easy. I can’t believe it’s raw spaghetti sauce!!! I love all things pasta, and it was a sad thing to me that I’ve never had much luck with creating raw spaghetti sauce… it just didn’t have that full, rich flavor. Good thing  my Grandma helped me figure out what this one was missing. We just kept adding stuff until it was just right! Goes great with raw zucchini pasta too. (See our “Easy Lasagna” recipe.) “Easy Spaghetti Sauce” 1 cup pureed raw tomatoes 1 tsp raw honey 1/4 tsp sea salt 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1/2 tsp onion powder 1/2 tsp dried basil 1/2 tsp dried oregano 1/4 tsp dried sage Pepper to taste (or substitute […]
