How can Organic Raw Foods Recipes change your life? I believe the answer is found in the incredible results that are attracting thousands of people to a raw food diet every day! Through reading current research… examining my own experiences… and from hearing the testimonies of countless people around the world, I’m convinced that organic raw foods are among the greatest gifts God has given us to maintain excellent health.
It is intriguing to me that the first foods given to man after he was created, were raw: “And God said, See, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the land and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food.” Genesis 1:29
A look at science will also point us back to our need for the original raw food diet which God gave the first man and woman in the garden of Eden. Here’s a thought that helped me better understand our physical need for this diet:
The human body is made up of LIVING organisms, and LIVING organisms are sustained by LIVING nutrients!
Imagine if a person decided they wanted to start breathing carbon-dioxide because it had more flavor than oxygen….? Everyone is aware that this sort of thinking is backwards…….but also deadly. Feeding our bodies a primarily cooked diet may not produce the same disastrous results as rapidly as breathing carbon-dioxide, but I believe our bodies will show similar results over time. We live in a disease ridden culture where our bodies are trying to tell us what damage is being done to them, but are we listening?
When I first began learning more about a raw food diet, I decided to try to “listen” to my body, to see if it would give me a “thumbs up” (or down) on eating more raw foods. A couple things immediately caught my attention:
– I could often eat a SMALL AMOUNT of raw food and feel completely satisfied.
– Yet sometimes I could eat a large, cooked pizza by myself, and still feel HUNGRY!
I started to realize that this unsatisfied feeling was my body’s way of saying, “Hey! You filled my stomach, but you didn’t give me any “REAL FOOD” (LIVING nutrients to nourish my body right down to a cellular level), so I’m telling you I’m still hungry!” This is one of the things that can lead to over eating. (It is very difficult to over-eat on raw food.)
Other improvements I noticed were an increased energy level and clarity of thought. While eating more raw foods, I found it easier to concentrate on a task and I could go longer periods of time without a break when I was working outside in the heat. I also noticed that my skin was clearer and softer.
